2023 - 2025

2025 changes

In February 2025, we launched our new website, revamping its design and also offering new tours, among other logistic changes in our walking tours. The Weekend Tours have been renamed Outdoor Tours, and the Seasonal Tours are now Standard Tours, keeping the soul of showing you a specific area of Dublin City in a short period of time for an affordable price.

Booking requests and Booking confirmations

Since March 2025 the whole booking process has been automatised. Yo don't have to send a booking request and wait for availability anymore.

The old booking request forms are now just contact forms. Please, fill them out if you have a specific inquiry about a tour.

You can make your payments on line, with several options using your credit or debit card, or alternative online payments options.

If you have a problem with the check out platform, we can provide a Stripe link.  In this is the case, your booking will be completed after we get a notification from Stripe informing us that the payment is done. The platform will automatically send you an electronic receipt.

Booking processing times

We do our best to reply to your emails and Instagram direct messages as soon as possible, if there is a delay is because we are touring. We check our contact forms, emails and social media every day, so you can be sure that your request are going to read and replied between 12–15 hours after being sent.

Last minute bookings

We encourage you to send your booking request at least 2 or 3 working days in advance so that we have time enough to process it and secure an unforgettable tour for you. Last minute bookings are only available for our Night Tours and Standard Tours. Just send us a direct message on Instagram and we will check for availability.

Night tours

Last minute bookings for all night tours are available if you contact us via direct message on Instagram and make your payment in cash in the meeting point, before starting the tour (without this, the tour won’t start). This last minute booking option runs every day from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Be advised that we only give one tour every night and there is just one guide in charge. We cannot process your last minute requirement if someone else has a confirmed tour for the day, nor if the limit of 3 people per tour has been reached.

Discount coupons are not valid for last minute bookings.

Standard tours

Last minute bookings for Standard tours are available if you contact us via direct message on Instagram and make your payment in cash in the meeting point, before starting the walking tour, (without this, the tour won’t start). This last minute booking option runs every day up to 3 hours before the starting time of the tour.

Be advised that we only give one tour at time and there is just one guide in charge. We cannot process your last minute requirement if someone else has a confirmed tour for the day, nor if the limit of 10 people per Standard tour has been reached.

Discount coupons are not valid for last minute bookings.

Making changes

Itineraries

All our tours are tailored according to criteria that let us coordinate and balance walking time between places, tour schedules in museums, opening hours of several other places, and timetables of buses, tram and trains services as well. Based on these logistics it is not possible to make changes in the proposed itineraries, like mixing destinations from one to another tour, or adding places for visiting.

Starting time

Is not possible to change the starting time of any itinerary. All tours are planned to allow us to have 2 per day: one in the morning, and a second tour in the night to visit pubs.

Keeping this time balance is essential to guarantee you an unforgettable experience, and also to the guest from the next tour of yours, especially when the gap between day and night tours is just 30 or 45 minutes.

Rescheduling tours

This option is only available for all our Night Premium Tours, and two Outdoor Tours: “City Parks”, and “Royal & Grand Canal”. You can take a confirmed booking in a different date only if:

  1. you notify us about the change with at least 3 days before the tour starts,
  2. the change does not interfere with previous confirmed bookings,
  3. the limit of 3 people per tour has not been reached, and
  4. the new required date does not exceed  two (2) days from the original booked day.

There are no extra fees for a rescheduling day, when it is made following the criteria detail above. Rescheduling days are not possible to process 48 hours (2 days) before the tour starts. If you cannot take the tour any more it might be refundable up to 75%. Please refer to our Cancellations and Refunds section.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you cannot take a tour any more, you can cancel it and apply for a refund. To cancel a tour email to booking@gaydublintours.com with the word CANCEL in the subject. Tell us about your reasons and we will assist you.

Cancellations made up to 7 days before the booked day gets 75% back.

Cancellations made up to 4 days before the booked day gets 70% back.

Cancellations made 3, 2 or 1 day before the booked day gets 60% back.

Cancellations made on the same booked day get 55% back.

This cancellation and refund option applies just for our Premium Tours. Standard tours are not subject to refund.

We rely on Stripe (their process and conditions) to give you back the money. Some refunds can take up to 30 days, depending on the card company.

Meeting point

Except for other arrangements, our tours start in front of the Jim Larkin Statue (on O'Connell Street, Dublin 1) just few steps from the Spire monument and the General Postal Office (GPO) building.

The meeting point can be another place or the reception of your hotel if it is in the city centre and does not dramatically change the itinerary. To make it possible, maybe you will be requested to be ready for the meeting 10 or 15 minutes earlier than the tour starts.

Equipment

Due to the local weather we suggest you wear sensible clothing and check out the weather forecast. Be ready for a cold, bright, sunny, windy or wet day. We do city tours, so you do not really need professional equipment.

The right clothes, comfortable shoes, and a not-too-heavy backpack with the essentials is the minimum equipment required to enjoy a tour.

Our tours are easy to do. They are long but both, amateurs and professionals can take them. They are mainly city walking-tours. The Weekend tours are likely closer to an outdoor adventure but do not be afraid, still are full enjoyable, made to reach to goal with no rush.

The most extreme of our Weekend tours is “A Day in Howth”, which has a demanding 1-hour pathway going up to the summit of the peninsula, having impressive views of the cliffs, the sea and the city
