Gay Dublin Tours

Designed by Braliem Jousc

2023 - 2025

GDT is a personal project created to synchronise with the Braliem Jousc Archive project, in which the developer merges his background in journalism, his passion for photography and his interest in history and arts to tailor unique itineraries that let visitors fully enjoy Dublin through its heritage, literature, architecture, visual arts, night scene and outdoor attractions.

We don't offer conventional short walking tours. Our main purpose is to immerse you in a real day-long experience while walking and travelling around the city. In our catalogue you will find 16 different tours classified around four themes: Day, Night, Weekend and Seasonal.

Another unique characteristic of Gay Dublin Tours is the number of guests allowed per tour: up to 3 people only. We specialise in solo travellers and couples. We do not accept more than 3 people in order to guarantee you a truly personal experience. No more crowded groups! “Stop following your guide and have a face to face conversation” is one of our mottos.

In Gay Dublin Tours you book, we do the rest. All our tours include breaks to have drinks and a meal or snacks. Tickets for buses, trams or trains are included as well. When you book with us you are getting more than a conventional tour service. We are an all-in-one personalised option for your visit to Dublin. You will find that we are a trip mentor, a gastronomic adviser, a budget planner, an assessor for historical interests, an urban photography assistant, and a city walking guru.

Our visual resources also make us different. All the pictures on our website and Instagram come from Braliem Jousc’s personal photograph archive. He is a former journalist based in Dublin City after 25 years in Latin America writing for newspapers and magazines about arts, history and architecture.

Now he spends the days exploring and photographing Dublin. Braliem has dedicated the last 4 years documenting the city with his old but loyal and beloved Canon camera. As someone fascinated (maybe obsessed) by pictures from the 19th and early 20th centuries, he has curated and processed pictures of buildings, streets and places from his collection to make them look like they were taken more than 100 years ago, or to give them that vintage touch that reminds him the 70s and 80s, when he got his first photo camera.

With this photo archive and his background he has tailored all the itineraries at Gay Dublin Tours, as well as giving tours. His project is to process 2 terabytes of pictures, classify them and create a website to give public access to the archive. So far there are some pictures on this website but new equipment, an external hard drive for storage, and a professional hosting service website are required for this ambitious photo project.

Immerse yourself in the detail of Dublin with its history, literature, arts, pubs and parks as the north in your compass. Think of us as an old friend that you are visiting, someone who moved to Dublin a long time ago and badly wants to show you the city that he now calls home.
